Silas Says..

Silas is such a boy...very rough and tumble, reminiscent as a tiny ball of destruction. We have a lot of fun, but he sure does keep me on my toes. I thought if he could describe some of our daily activities, it would probably go like this:

I wake up starving. Mommy gives me oatmeal again. I spit it out hoping she gives me her toast instead, but she one ups me and gives me green beans. She's sly.

After breakfast, I help Mommy clean up....

By moving everything onto the floor.

I love to help Mommy do things in the bathroom...

Like changing the toilet roll and touching the toilet brush just to hear her scream.

My Mommy is always doing laundry and sometimes she lets me take the clothes out of the dryer. When she starts to fold them, I help her by...

 Making sure they're dry....

And throwing the neatly folded clothes on the floor....because she needs to practice her skills.

I like to sweep...

But the monster she calls the "vacuum", makes me run. When it's quiet, I attempt to take it down...

And it never fights back...because it fears me!

Around lunch, after inspecting the dishwasher....

I steal Mommy's coffee...

And it tastes like heaven!

We go on walks or for a run in the afternoons...

At the park, I watch the fish...

Learn about the planets....

Pause for a second to let Mommy take my picture...

And then I run away!

Sometimes we go to the library so I can look at books...

Or check my email...

And be inspired by that Kid President guy. Oh my gosh..is he behind me?!

I climb on furniture at home, which makes Mommy take me to a "safe" place to play at the mall.

I inspect the rocket...

Talk to the other babies and kids....

In order to stage a coup and invade said rocket ship.

At the end of the day, I stir air in a bowl while Mommy cooks.

She tells me I'm a big helper, but really I'm the one helping her. Silly Mommy!

After dinner, it's bath time, jammie jams, and bedtime prayers.

I wonder what I'll do tomorrow? Maybe try to drive the car....

We Have A Sloth!!

Does anyone remember "The Goonies"? There were so many great parts of that movie, but I was always scared of the brother that was kept imprisoned, Sloth. He was SO creepy looking! You know what's even creepier than that? This....

Okay that's actually still a cute picture, but what about this?

And as your husband breaks the speed limit, rushing towards the hospital, that face begins to swell more and more, becoming like this....

Yes, way creepier than dude on "The Goonies"! His face did that after his first PB&J sandwich :(. We are assuming he's allergic to peanuts, but he tested negative on the blood test, so we are looking into further testing just to be sure.

What were our initial reactions to this scary event?

Positives:
1. The Lord was merciful in His timing! I had just gotten done at work and Silas didn't take a long nap. We cannot imagine the "what ifs" of Silas continuing to sleep and us not realizing what was going on.
2. Adam's a good driver and there were no cops as we sped from Madison to Huntsville.
3. Good friends that we knew we could confide in and rely on to answer questions as they've gone through the same thing.
4. Modern medicine to counteract the effects!

Negatives:
1. We love peanut butter...and almond butter and eat them a lot in our house. That's getting modified.
2. Silas will miss out on delicious treats like Reese's cups, Butterfingers, M&M's, Nutter Butters, etc, etc. *I feel its ironic how sad I am about that considering how "anti-processed" we've been with Silas' food intake.*

Above all we are just so thankful that little man is okay and feeling (and looking) like his normal self!
