Hope

The title of this blog is the summary of my life. It comes from Isaiah (one of my favorite books of the Bible) in chapter 51 where the Lord is telling Israel to look at where they have come from and how He comforts Zion and makes her wasteplaces and wilderness like Eden where there will be joy, gladness, thanksgiving, and song. My life was a wasteland and a place of mourning before the Lord brought me in and made me His own. Jesus has given me a future and a hope and I see daily how He is transforming what was a mess into something beautiful. I want to share those so they can be an encouragement to others and a reminder to myself. He is so good! I also thought my profile picture should be one from my wedding because I can't wait to see Jesus face to face at the wedding supper of the Lamb. I have even told Adam that I want to be buried in my wedding dress! I'm sure there will be better clothing there ;).

Do you have a verse that summarizes your life?

  1. Lisa,
Enjoyed your blog. I praise the Lord for his work in your life. My favorite verse is Isaiah 41:10: "fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." This verse has been the one I keep going back to these last 2 years.
Keep up the good work in your blog.

  2. Hey Lisa! I'm diggin' your blog. I've never really thought about one verse that summarizes my life. Hmm...interesting to ponder. The first one that comes to mind is the one I discovered when Adam and I were on vacation in Jamaica. We met a couple from Cookeville (the irony in that is a whole other story!)and the man had a tatoo of an eagle on his arm. Interestingly enough, the bible verse underneath it was also from the book of Isaiah. It's 40:31: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint. :) Alana

  3. Lisa, I agree with mimmyto3 I love that verse Isaiah 41:10, but I also like 2nd Samuel 22:33 God is my strength and my power and he maketh my way perfect. both verse are similar and I have looked to them both to carry on in life. Just knowing that no matter what happens He is there to make my way perfect. Love ya girl and I am so proud of you.
